Long-Term Running Goals:

Finishing a marathon in under 3 hours. This is actually my goal in my upcoming marathon in May 2019.


Happily married with one kid. Chemical engineer, now studying statistics. Although I've always maintained a healthy level of fitness, I didn't pick up running until junior year at BYU. Now I live in Idaho, where I leave for work at 5am and don't get home until 5:40pm. I try to get a short run in before work and on a blue moon I do a little something else after work. Some might call that a weekend warrior, but I make an honest effort during the week as well. Say hello!

AM - 13.3 Easy miles on the treadmill with some strides. I'm signed up for a local trail race this weekend on a snowmachine path near Island Park. Not sure I'm mentally/physically ready for that cold though!

Tried running outside after the gym got clogged with New Year's resolutioners. I bet they'd all be gone if there weren't TVs in the gym.

AM - 1 mile WU + 14 miles at goal marathon pace (8:00/mi) + 1 mile CD. I felt really good this morning. I came home and still had so much energy, even though the rest of the house was still asleep. Got some cleaning done and even had the patience to prepare some steel cut oats. I used a sample drink mix that I got from the Everglades Half. It's called Gnarly nutrition. This was the last one. I really liked it, and I'm sad it costs over 1 dollar/mix. Too bad I'm cheap.

PM - 4.99 miles easy on the treadmill.
